Changing the Darkness / Lightness of softap Colors
In this blog, we'll explore practical tips and techniques for effectively changing the darkness or lightness of Softap colors. Whether you need to modify the pigment itself or adjust a previous permanent makeup procedure, we've got you covered.
WORLDWIDE LEADERS
One of the things I like the most about Softap colors is that they come ready to use, but if for any reason, you find the color is too dark or too light for your client's preferences, You can easily make adjustments, either to lighten or darken the pigment.
Here's how:
To change the darkness or lightness of a pigment:
To lighten a Softap color:
- To lighten any color, you may add Lemon-Aid or little distilled water.
Lemon-Aid is a yellow Softap color that allows the lightening of a color without changing its tonal value of it too much.
Avoid using white color to lighten Softap colors, as White is an opaque color, which does not allow the transparency of other colors and water will make any color lighter and more transparent.
To darker either a Softap Color
Add a touch of Black Orchid or select a darker shade from the same color palette. This will intensify the color while maintaining its tonal qualities.
Remember, when depositing color into the skin using a machine or hand device, the number of passes over the same area affects the darkness of the final result. Multiple passes will yield a darker outcome.
When your client desires a change in darkness or lightness for their existing permanent makeup, follow these guidelines:
- If your client already has her eyebrows done with a dark brown, she likes the shade but wants it lighter, you may apply Lemon Aid. With the Softap hand method, do just one or two passes with 5 taps in each place.
- If the color is too light: Select a darker shade from the same palette to achieve the desired intensity.
- If the color changed to grey you may apply orange aid first and then apply a warm color.
- If the color changed to red, apply Lime aid and then a neutral or cool color.
- If the color changed to purple, apply Lemon aid and then a neutral color.
Choosing the correct color is easy with the “smear & match” system
